In response to feedback from the field, the Department has revised the teacher and principal evaluation assessment RFQ (#15-001) with an updated set of review criteria for assessments for use with student learning objectives (SLOs) to help ensure that, to the extent possible, assessments previously used under Education Law §3012-c can continue to be used under Education Law §3012-d. The updated RFQ has been posted on our website at: http://www.p12.nysed.gov/compcontracts/rfq-15-001-assessments/.
For assessments for use with SLOs, the following changes have been made:
· Applicants are not required to submit Form B-2 (Technical Application) or the corresponding Form G (Attestation of Technical Criteria);
· Applicants must instead complete Form H (Applicant Certification Form);
· Applicants who are school districts are no longer required to have BOCES co-sponsor (See Section 2.1 C of the RFQ)
Additionally, in order to facilitate an expedited review of all assessments, applicants may now submit their entire application electronically, via email to the [email protected] mailbox.
An updated Applicant Webinar to assist with submission will be posted later this week and will be available on the assessment RFQ landing page.
As assessments are approved, they will be posted here: http://usny.nysed.gov/rttt/teachers-leaders/assessments/home.html#assess.
The Department strongly encourages districts/BOCES to submit their own assessments and to contact their third-party assessment representatives to encourage them to submit assessments for approval as soon as possible to ensure those assessments can be added to the appropriate list. Any questions related to this RFQ should be directed to the [email protected] mailbox. Answers to these questions will be posted on our website at: http://www.p12.nysed.gov/compcontracts/rfq-15-001-assessments/questions-answers.html. Answers to questions received by September 24, 2015 will be posted on October 8, 2015 and this page will continue to be updated, at a minimum, on a quarterly basis.
